Leaving Echoes is an independent rock band hailing from Central North Carolina. Formed in the winter of 2020, the group blends a wide array of musical backgrounds into an engaging and hard-hitting sound.

The band plays a mix of hard alternative rock, punk, and metal influenced sounds, while occasionally sampling some down-tempo, melodic and introspective vibes. Their style leans heavily on high-energy guitar work and powerful female vocals, pulling influences from 1990s grunge, hard hitting punk, to modern alt metal.

Scott

Scott is a guitarist, composer, and visual artist blending grunge, hard rock, metal, punk, and doom into immersive guitar-driven soundscapes. Writing and playing original music for over three decades, he draws inspiration from the textured riffcraft  of Jerry Cantrell , the foundational heaviness of Tony Iommi and the melodic structural instincts of Stone Gossard.

A lifelong enthusiast of science fiction and fantasy approaches composition as worldbuilding—using tone, atmosphere, and tasty riffs.

Bethany

Vocalist, writer, bossy bitch, and introvert, Bethany is here to observe and reflect. Good is good when it comes to music. Influences are everywhere and everything.

Bethany has always written in secret journals and sung in private places. While she hails from a talented musical family, (co-vocalist Jesse is her sister) Bethany was mostly content singing backups for other musical acts. Upon meeting Echoes Guitar Player Scott through an introduction via an Atlantic Records A&R rep, their musical co-writing helped to bring out her individual voice.

Wes

Bassist, guitarist, dad, and lover of nature. Wes learned to play thrash metal at an early age and grew up taking in all the different music genres to mold his current style. Wes’s musical intuition helps to ground Leaving Echoes compositions. As a founding member, Wes is known to be the mascot and musical translator between the drums and guitar, neither one is happy if he’s not present. In his words, “Peace, love, and FTG.”

Maz

Maz picked up sticks at the age of 7, when he got his first kit, and hasn’t put them down since. Drums and rhythm are like air, playing is like breathing - he needs it to live.

Professionally, Maz’s debut with his first band was shopped by Interscope, followed by projects that let him tour throughout the southeast, playing Warped Tour, and opening for many large touring punk acts throughout South Florida.

He hits hard, but pulls forth the nuance of the music he plays, allowing the songs to speak in whatever genre he’s playing.

Jesse

Singer and dancer, Jesse Morris, brings dynamic vocals and movement to the stage combining her years of dance training and performance experience to her vocal styling. She is actively a lead vocalist and a backup vocalist in local band projects and performs on a regular basis.

Kyle

Although newer to the group, Kyle’s musical sensibility and intuition brings exciting new flavor  to Leaving Echoes previous recordings and high energy improvisation to live performances.

Kyle is currently working on his Masters in Music at the prestigious UNC School of the Arts. While he is classically trained, his influences are metal, classic rock guitar shredders, punk, rap, jazz, and just good music. He has played with numerous touring bands over the years, bringing his own flavor, style and sweeps in whatever way best serves the song.
